MAS DIFICIL TODAVIA / even harder

Alex and Katie deseando tener un bebeé. Let me introduce myself. My name is Bea an I have recently become a mother of 3. This, in itself in not big news I´m sure, however this has happened to me at almost 40 years of age (should I have confessed that??), after three artificial inseminations, one in vitro, 12 years of marriage, and two gorgeous, precious children from two very different but hugely exciting countries. Someone up there truly has a wicked sense of humour!!!!!! My husband is Scottish (I only mention it because it is character defining), musician, actor, composer, director, he´s incredibly talented, has a great sense of humour a a lot of temper, and a huge heart of gold. I wasn´t thrilled at first (I´m sorry son but you better hear it from me). Craig was over the moon, my parents ecstatic, my in laws elated, my sister, who always had wanted a big family (that changed due to the lack of interest my lovely nephews seem to have in sleeping full nights)truly happy that I was the pregnant one. Alex and Katie looking forward to a baby sibling, Even my boss took it well!!!!!. And I was walking around in tears, why now, I´m WAY too old, and so are you hon by the way, no wine for 9 months, now that the kids were getting big and independent... Most people don´t believe but my motherly instintcs were FULLY satisfied. If I had an euro for every time I heard someone say: oh, you had waited so long to have a child, oh finally, you wanted a child so badly.., we would have moved houses already. I looked at my beautiful kids and thought, I HAVE TWO, two loving, adorable kids. Mine, just as mine as I had given birth to them, even more because they gave ME life, I longed for them, I dreamed of them, I searched for them al over the world. Can anyone really think they are not the real thing?,that they are some sort of consolation prize?, that I was waiting for someone OTHER than them? Anyway, after nine months (urban myth, it is really ten) of business as usual, looking after my two, doing a management program at IE, litres and litres of coca-cola (would recommend it to anyone preganant, it kept me going!), fainting regularly on the office floor (quietly tucked under my desk, thanks guys for looking after me) and a horrible albeit brief C-section, along came Nico. One look at him and I was madly in love, my tiny baby, my little piece of eterninity, my perfect little angel. Now I know the more the merrier, a child is always a blessing. And the more, the more work, the less hours of sleep, more laughs, more happiness, more frights, more kisses, and more love that can hardly fit in your chest seeing your children healthy, together, brave and strong and happy. And more work, and less sleeping and back to the office with hours of sleep for business as usual (with 3 schools to pay, any other option?), looking after my THREE kids, and dozens of shops all over the world, and traveling to far away places without my kids (I´m not knocking down 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep even in Iberia coach seats) but I´ll tell you about juggling all that as we get better acquainted.
